Motherhood has been a source of great joy to me, and today, I want to bask in this sacred space where God has been most gracious for a little while. My only son, my little boy, has graduated from kindergarten and will head to first grade this fall. I could not be happier for him; he has the best time meeting new people and forming friendships.
Before enrolling in kindergarten, my son, Jedidiah, was being homeschooled. I was most hesitant about sending him out to school for several reasons: the pandemic and the fact that certain things have been happening around us, which I did not want him exposed to at such a young age. Children should be allowed to be children and should not have to deal with issues or things that are not critical to their development. Let me also say that we are responsible as parents to guard our young children’s minds in every way possible.
So while the school year was bumpy due to the many viruses, colds, and flu that have been going around, which caused him to miss several days from school, overall, it was good. He has done well, and I can see how much he has improved. He is reading and writing much better, has a brain for numbers, and loves math and science. He also has the most fantastic teacher, who he has expressed to me that he loves so much. He is not so happy about not being in her class next year. You can always tell when people are friendly to our children. Whenever our children rave about their teachers and are eager to return to school after a break because they missed their teacher, that teacher is doing amazing things for them. And let’s face it; some people are not pleasant when we are not around. So, of course, commendations are in order for Ms. H. Rene.

The moving-up ceremony was on Thursday, June 8, 2023, and all the children did amazing. The program was short yet very well organized. And being the proud mom I am, and one who loves to take many pictures and videos, I have a few that I will share.

Remember to be good to our little children; they are the future.
God Bless.
