And just like that, it’s seven months! I cannot say it enough; time is flying. So here is baby Emmah-Rose; today, she turns seven months old. These days, she has been up to a lot. As I try to write this post, she is wrestling with me for the keyboard so that she can pound the keys; that’s her way of typing.
My Emmah-Rose is a happy, smiley baby. She is quite a personality and is significantly determined whenever she wants something. She is that baby that touches and puts anything in her mouth, which drives me crazy and always keeps me on my pees and cues. “The wheels on the bus” is her favorite song; whenever she gets cranky, especially in the car, playing that song relaxes her. She is so excited when she sees her older sister and brother. They are her absolute favorite people. She loves caressing her brother’s ears whenever he is close, and whenever he ignores her, she pulls his hair.
She is also very alert and attentive. She would turn her head in whatever direction she heard a familiar voice or sound, and whenever anyone was talking, she looked directly into their faces. So if it’s several persons, you can see her eyes darting from one person to the next as they spoke.
Milestones
Baby is sitting comfortably now. She can change various positions, such as moving from sitting to lying and vice-versa, turning over on her back or belly, and pulling herself up from sitting to standing while holding on to something. She loves to jump and has begun to move a bit as if she is dancing when she hears music. We have a dancer on our hands, it seems.
Wellness Visit
Her last doctor visit was about two weeks ago. She weighed 17 lbs and 16 ounces, and her height was 26 1/2 inches. The doctor gave her a clean bill of health.
Nutrition
In case you are not aware, Emmah-Rose is plantbased. She officially started eating food at her six months mark. She has already tried potatoes, chickpeas, brown rice, lentils, red beans, strawberries, bananas, carrots, prunes, oatmeal, pears, avocados, etc. She does not seem to like the taste of fruits so much. I am unsure if it is because of the sweet taste and tanginess of the strawberries. This week she will have spinach, pumpkin, and mango. She continues to breastfeed otherwise. She also enjoys drinking fresh water.
She is currently taking a multivitamin and prebiotics as well.
Nicknames
Everyone in our family has a unique name for Emmah-Rose. Her daddy calls her butterball because she was born 9 lbs 10 ounces: her brother affectionately refers to her as Cutie Patootie, and her sister, Cabbage Patch. Her other names are from me (Rosie, Posie, Nosie, Emzie). So we sing the morning song and incorporate all the names at the end. She loves it. I will record and share it hear at some point.
Until next time, be blessed.
