The past few months have been incredibly nostalgic, marked by a whirlwind of emotions. Whew, what a rollercoaster! Highs and lows, losses and gains, laughter and sadness, tears and joy, confusion and clarity; you name it, I felt it. One moment, I was celebrating the relief of finishing college; the next, I was mourning the loss of a loved one. From the excitement of an amazing job interview to the joy of graduation… from the sting of rejection to the heartbreak of losing a dear friend, colleague, and batchmate… to the beauty of celebrating my sister-in-law’s wedding day. And in between? So much more, some of it too personal and raw to share here.
I couldn’t understand why all these things were happening at once. Was there a lesson in it all? Was God trying to teach me something? I found myself asking, “God, is this a test? Are you just throwing everything my way to see how I’ll respond?” One minute I was smiling and full of joy, the next I was crying or battling disappointment.
I still don’t have all the answers, but one thing I know: God has a reason for every season in our lives. And even better, He has a plan to see us through if we choose to trust Him. No, I didn’t handle every moment perfectly. There were times I had to wrestle with God and, more often, with myself. The enemy saw my vulnerability and tried to sneak in doubt, hopelessness, and the lie that God wasn’t near or didn’t care.

But even in unfamiliar seasons, God is never surprised. He knows the beginning from the end, and He’s already made provision for us through His Word. There’s something in Scripture for every season, and today, I want to walk you through how God’s Word spoke to me in mine.
Graduating College: A Season of Endurance and Reward
This was one of the longest and most winding journeys of my life. I started college as a mother of one. By the time I graduated, that child was an adult, and I had two more children! But I had a dream, and no matter how long it took, I was determined to finish. God was with me every step of the way.
When I felt overwhelmed, I found peace in these scriptures:
- Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
- Isaiah 60:22 – “When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen.”
- Philippians 4:6 – “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”
- Proverbs 3:5-6 – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
- Ecclesiastes 9:11 – “The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong… but time and chance happen to them all.”
Death, Grief & Loss: A Season of Reflection and Trust
Even in our deepest pain, God is near. In grief, it’s hard to recognize His presence but He is there, comforting, healing, reminding us that His ways are higher than ours.
If you’re in this season, please check out my recent post on grieving and healing through faith: Grieving and Healing Through Faith
Grief has reminded me that life is fragile and time is precious. Tomorrow is not promised. So we must live today purposefully, with Christ at the center.
- Romans 8:28 – “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”
- Psalm 34:18 – “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
- John 14:1-3 – “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God… In my Father’s house are many rooms… I am going there to prepare a place for you.”
Marriage: A Season of Joy and New Beginnings
Sharing in my sister-in-law’s wedding reminded me that life goes on. In the same breath of grief, God gave a glimpse of hope. His mercies are new every morning, and He delights in giving good gifts to His children.
This moment showed me that while we mourn the ones we’ve lost, God still offers new beginnings, joy, and purpose. Not because we are more deserving to be alive, but because His ways are His own, and our role is simply to trust Him.
- Ecclesiastes 3:1,4 – “There is a time for everything… a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance.”
- James 1:17 – “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights.”
- Song of Solomon 3:4 – “I have found the one whom my soul loves.”
Final Thoughts: What Season Are You In?
Whatever season you’re walking through, or if, like me, you’re facing several all at once, remember this truth: God is still in control. His power isn’t limited by your circumstances, and His plan isn’t shaken by your emotions. It may not all make sense now, but one day, in His perfect timing, it will.
So hold on. Ride the waves of life with Christ as your anchor. Let Him steady your heart and strengthen your faith with His unshakable promises until that glorious day when He returns to make all things new.
Now it’s your turn.
What season are you in right now? What is God teaching you through it? I’d love to hear your story feel free to share in the comments or send me a message. Let’s grow together through every season He allows.
With love and purpose,
