Be Well Wednesday: Spill the Tea… Just Not These Teas

We all love a little tea.
The “girl, you won’t believe this” tea.
The “let me tell you what happened” tea.
The “sit down, I have a story” tea.

But there are some teas you absolutely cannot spill
because they belong in your stomach first thing in the morning, not in the group chat.

“…and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.”— Revelation 22:2 (KJV)

These are the bitter teas, the teas that taste like they came straight out of your grandma’s medicine cabinet but work like heaven-sent wellness warriors.

And lately, I’ve been more intentional about starting my mornings with them. A warm cup, sometimes cold, but always purposeful. Because in this unstable, stressful climate, Lord knows we need every bit of wellness support we can get.

Recently, I listened to two powerful presentations on diabetes during Healing of the Nation Early Morning Health (every Saturday morning at 5 am. Dr. Carine Brown, a Naturopathic doctor, shared so much wisdom but one thing stood out:

Your first sip of the day should be something bitter.
On an empty stomach.
Unsweetened.
And with intention.

Why Bitter First?

Bitters help “wake up” your digestive system and metabolic pathways. They signal your liver, gallbladder, and pancreas to get moving which is especially important in a world where blood sugar issues are rising.

Here are the teas you don’t spill but you sip them, pray over them, and let them do their work:

  • Aloe vera — gentle cleansing and digestive support
  • Burdock root — liver detox and inflammation support
  • Neem — deeply bitter and powerful for blood sugar balance
  • Dandelion root — queen of liver support
  • Gentian — the heavyweight champion of digestive activation

And then there’s the one that deserves its own spotlight…only because I am bias and been using it the longest.

Cerasee: The Tea You REALLY Don’t Spill

Cerasee is that girl. The girl I once feared. Now we’re besties.
The tea your Caribbean auntie warned you about.
The tea that tastes like it has seen things.
The tea that will humble you, cleanse you, and correct your life choices in one sip.

Cerasee & Clove

But it’s also one of the most powerful bitter herbs you can drink.

Cerasee supports:

  • Blood sugar balance
  • Digestion
  • Liver detox
  • Inflammation reduction
  • Bloating + cramp relief

It’s bitter.
It’s bold.
It’s bossy.
And it works.

Let’s Be Honest… Bitter Teas Are Not Cute and they are definitely not Yum!

These teas are not for aesthetics.
They’re not for vibes.
They’re not for “soft girl mornings.”

They are for:

  • waking up your liver
  • activating digestion
  • supporting blood sugar
  • reducing cravings
  • helping your body detox naturally

Sometimes the things that taste the worst do the most good.

Sip the Bitter. Spill the positive & uplifting tea. Know the Difference.

So yes, spill the tea about life.
Laugh, share, connect, release.

But don’t ever spill these teas.
Sip them.
Honor them.
Let them do what God designed them to do.

Because choosing a bitter tea in the morning is choosing:

  • long‑term health over short‑term comfort
  • intention over impulse
  • stewardship over convenience

And that’s the heart of Be Well Wednesday, small, sacred choices that add up to a healthier, more grounded you.

So which tea will you sip first?

Be well and be blessed.
