The beginning of Something New

The Beginning of Something New

Are you sick and tired of talking about the things you want to do, but never actually doing them? You know what I mean, one day you’re pumped, excited, and ready to go. But when the moment comes, you say, “I don’t feel like it, maybe tomorrow.” Or maybe you were bold enough to start, but somewhere along the way, you gave up and told yourself, “Maybe the timing was off.”

How about the thrill you feel from telling others your grand plans—how you’re going to change, launch that project, get healthy or grow in your walk with God—but then… nothing happens? You never make the move. Nothing changes.

Listen, I’ve been there. And honestly? I’m tired of not following through, especially with the things I know would improve my life, my family’s life, and most importantly, my relationship with the Lord. Mi tiad! (I’m tired!)

So if your answer is, “Yes, that’s totally me!”—then here’s the real question:
What are you going to do about it?
Not tomorrow.
Not next week.
Not next year.
Today.

It’s time to do that new thing, beloved. It’s time to stop saying what we’re going to do and actually do it. Will it be challenging? Absolutely. But so what? You have what it takes!

Stop settling for the temporary high that comes from just talking about it. Let’s rise to the next level. Let’s become doers. Let’s hold ourselves accountable. Because the truth is, those people who politely listen to our repeated plans (the ones we never act on)? They’re often thinking, “Here she goes again.” Just like we sometimes roll our eyes when someone else talks the talk but doesn’t walk the walk.

Let’s break that cycle. Let’s pray for each other. Let’s support each other. And let’s do the things we were born to do. Prayer is power!

So how do we actually do this?

Get out of your own head.
Those negative thoughts flooding your mind, making you doubt your ability? Lies. Don’t believe them.

Hold yourself accountable.
If you said you’re going to do it—do it. This builds trust and shows you’re serious about your growth.

Find support.
If doing it alone hasn’t worked, it’s time to get help. Don’t keep repeating the same cycle expecting a different result.

Let go of perfection.
Starting something new can get messy. The results might not be what you expected, and that’s okay. It gets better the more you stick with it. Just don’t quit.

Lean on Christ.
This is the most important of all. By ourselves, we can do nothing. We may not feel strong enough—but with Christ, all things are possible.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” — Philippians 4:13
Not some things. All things.

So today, I encourage you:
Let your words become action.
Let your dreams become real.
Let this be the beginning of something new.

With love and purpose,
Tomika Chance
