The Summer heat is on whoosh, and it is burning on out. It certainly feels ten times hotter to me, being pregnant and all. Sometimes I feel drunken, restless, and lazy some days from the heat. Yet, I am very thankful for the beautiful summer days because Lord knows the winter days seem to drag on forever.
While we enjoy the warmth and the many things to do, we must ensure that we stay hydrated by consuming healthy liquids that energize and nourish our bodies. So apart from drinking adequate fresh water, drinking smoothies is another way to stay refreshed.
Smoothies are quick and easy to make. You can make fresh, delicious, and tasty smoothies in so many ways. Especially since a wide variety of fruits are available during the summer, and the prices are also affordable for most. Another thing that you can do is to buy a lot of your favorite fruits when they are on sale, wash and store them in the freezer until you are ready to cool down.
One of my favorite things to use to make smoothies are berries. Not only are they tasty, but they contain anti-oxidant and many other great health benefits.
To get you started, here is a recipe for my “Berry Tangy Smoothie.” If you are looking for that slightly sour taste, then you will enjoy this one.

Recipe
1 cup strawberry
2 cup Raspberries
Two ripe bananas
3 Medjool dates (pitted)
One half lemon
small piece of ginger
1 cup of pink grapefruit juice (optional, you can use water as well)
One tablespoon of Hemp seeds
One tablespoon of Sesame seed
One tablespoon of chia seeds.
Place all ingredients in your blender or nutribullet and blend until smooth. If you use fresh fruits that are not frozen, you can add ice cubes to the list of ingredients to achieve that excellent chill taste.
Be sure to check past posts for more summer cooling ideas.
Remember to stay hydrated and do so in a healthy way.
God Bless!
