Many of us move through the day without pausing to consider how our body is responding to the way we eat. We think about what we eat, but rarely about when we eat, and that timing matters more than most people realize.

Your digestive system is constantly working, but it’s not designed to handle continuous input. Just like any other system in the body, it needs breaks to complete each stage of digestion before the next one begins.
When we eat too frequently or graze all day, we interrupt the natural rhythm of digestion. Food piles on top of food, and the body never gets the chance to finish the work it already started.
The Hidden Reason Behind Indigestion
A surprising amount of:
- indigestion
- bloating
- gas
- stomach discomfort
- heaviness after meals
…isn’t caused by the food itself.
It’s caused by not giving your body enough time to break down what’s already there.
Your stomach and intestines operate in phases: breaking down food, absorbing nutrients, and then sweeping the gut clean. When you eat again too soon, that “clean‑up wave” never happens. The result is discomfort that feels mysterious but is actually very simple.

A Gentle Reminder
Your indigestion and stomach issues could very well be as simple as not giving your body time to complete the work of digestion. Sometimes the solution isn’t a new diet, a supplement, or a detox; it’s simply space.

Be intentional about allowing you body time to process what you’ve already ate. Space your meals 5-6 hours apart so digestion can be completed without constant interruption.
Be well and blessed.
