Welcome back, beloved community! This week we will continue our series, Flu Fighters in my Kitchen and I’m sharing one of our most trusted natural remedies, a vibrant, nutritious blend that has blessed my family and friends through cold season, flu battles, and even the height of COVID. It’s rich, powerful, and still going strong today.
Most ingredients are likely already in your kitchen or easily found at your local market. And best of all, they’re gifts from our Creator, placed in nature for our healing and sustenance.
What You’ll Need:
Grapefruit, orange, lemon, ginger, turmeric, horseradish, black pepper, cayenne pepper, eucalyptus oil, pineapple, garlic, red onion, honey (locally sourced if possible)… and prayer. Because there is no true healing without Jesus.
Wash, peel, and juice all ingredients. Take a shot as needed. It’s safe for children too; just reduce the horseradish and ginger for a gentler version. My little ones love it!
Brief Benefits of Key Ingredients
- Citrus fruits (grapefruit, orange, lemon): High in vitamin C, support immunity, and reduce inflammation.
- Ginger & turmeric: Anti-inflammatory, aid digestion, relieve pain, and boost immune response.
- Horseradish: Clears sinuses, fights bacteria, and supports respiratory health.
- Black pepper & cayenne: Stimulate circulation, enhance absorption of nutrients like curcumin.
- Eucalyptus oil: Opens airways, eases congestion, and supports respiratory healing.
- Pineapple: Rich in bromelain, which reduces mucus and inflammation. Plus taste great, yum!
- Garlic & red onion: Antibacterial, antiviral, and immune-strengthening.
- Honey: Soothes throat, suppresses cough, and provides antioxidants.
Closing Blessing
This remedy is more than a juice. It’s a reflection of stewardship, faith, and love. May it bring healing to your household and remind you that God has already provided what we need in the earth. Therefore, it is up to us to grab hold of it and apply it to our daily lives.
“He sent out His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions” (Psalm 107:20).
Be bless, be well!
With love and purpose,
Tomika Chance
